A Shaky Ending for the Diamondbacks Fans
Hey Diamondbacks fans!
A Promising Start for the Diamondbacks
We went neck and neck with the Rockies in the beginning, with both sides showing solid defense. In the 6th inning, things began to heat up. Corbin Carroll blasted a colossal 474-foot homer to tie the game, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. followed up with another to push us into the lead. We were on the edge of our seats as Jake McCarthy and Tyler Locklear contributed with singles, leveraging an error by Arcia to extend our lead to 4-1. Alek Thomas also turned up the heat with an RBI single, making it 5-1 for us.
Rockies' Resilience in the 7th and 8th Innings
Sadly, the Rockies began turning the tables in the bottom of the 7th. After a few hiccups, including a couple of hit-by-pitches, Ryan Ritter and Mickey Moniak capitalized to bring the score to 5-4, powering through with their consecutive hits. Braxton Fulford stretched their lead with a timely double in the 8th inning, putting them ahead 6-4.
Ninth Inning Drama, but Close Yet So Far
In the top of the 9th, Jake McCarthy, Tyler Locklear, and Alek Thomas kept our hopes alive with a series of impressive singles. James McCann drove in McCarthy with a sacrifice fly, cutting the deficit to 6-5, with runners still in scoring positions. However, Ketel Marte couldn't quite execute with two outs, leaving runners stranded as the game ended. Heartbreaking! It was an admirable effort from our Diamondbacks, and although we didn't clinch the win, there were plenty of positives to take away. Let's keep our spirits high and gear up for the next game. Go Diamondbacks!
