Tough Loss at Home

Hey Brewers fans, we faced a tough one today against the Diamondbacks, falling 5-0. Our bats stayed quiet all game long, and their pitching kept us off balance. Let’s break down what went down inning by inning.

Early Struggles

The game started off rough when Joc Pederson homered to center in the first inning, driving in Ketel Marte and putting the D-backs up early 2-0. Unfortunately, our offense couldn't get going as Brice Turang, Rhys Hoskins, and Garrett Mitchell were retired in order.

Pitching Up and Downs

Our pitching settled down after that early homer. But in the 5th inning, Jose Herrera added to the Diamondbacks' lead with a solo shot to right. Despite a valiant effort by our relievers, especially Hoby Milner and Trevor Megill, the Diamondbacks’ lineup was relentless; we saw Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte teaming up again in the 9th for a two-run homer by Marte.

Silent Bats

We tried to make something happen in the 3rd inning with Joey Ortiz and Sal Frelick getting singles, but the rally ended with a double play. The Diamondbacks’ pitchers had our number today, striking out our hitters 14 times! Despite some aggressive pinch hitting attempts by Gary Sanchez and Andruw Monasterio, we couldn’t break through.

Looking Ahead

Shoutout to our defense and bullpen for keeping us in the game for as long as they did. We’ll brush this one off and get ready for the next matchup. This wasn’t the result we wanted, but we Brewer fans know how to stay resilient and cheer our team on to the next victory! 💙⚾

Keep your heads up, Brewers family! Until next game. Go Brewers! 🍻
