Tough Night in Denver

Hey O's fans! 😓 It was a tough night for us in Denver as the Orioles fell to the Rockies 7-5. Despite a solid effort and some thrilling moments, the boys couldn't quite close the deal.

Rockies Take Early Lead

The Rockies jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd inning. Everything started with Brenton Doyle doubling to left. Brendan Rodgers then singled home Doyle, and later, Drew Romo's double scored two more, putting us in a 3-0 hole. Not the start we hoped for! 😟

Santander and Jiménez Go Deep

In the 4th inning, it was Anthony Santander who gave us a spark with a 2-run homer, cutting the lead to 3-2. Then, in the 5th inning, Eloy Jiménez crushed a solo shot to center, his 441-foot blast bringing us within one. These homers gave us some life! 💥

O's Battle Back

The magical moment came later in the 5th inning. Down 5-3, Ryan O'Hearn delivered a clutch single to center that drove in two runs, leveling the score at 5-5. The comeback was on, and we all believed! 🙌

Rockies Regain Control

However, the Rockies wouldn't be denied. In the bottom of the 8th, Brenton Doyle and Drew Romo each drove in runs to push the Rockies ahead 7-5. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't muster any more runs.

Late Inning Frustration

In the 9th inning, Cedric Mullins kept hope alive by walking and stealing second and third. Sadly, Emmanuel Rivera and Jackson Holliday struck out, and Gunnar Henderson was hit by a pitch, giving us one last-ditch chance. But, Adley Rutschman struck out swinging to end the game. Oof! 😔

It was a heartbreaker, folks. We showed resilience but couldn't quite get over the hump. Here's to bouncing back in the next one. Let's go O's! 🧡⚾ #Birdland
