Orioles Dominate Rockies with Stellar Performance! ⚾️

What a game, Birdland! The Baltimore Orioles absolutely owned Coors Field today as they strutted to a convincing 6-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. From pitching to hitting, our boys had everything going for them.

Early Inning Dominance

The game started with Austin Slater taking a walk, immediately followed by Anthony Santander singling him to third. Gunnar Henderson then brought Slater home with a single to center, getting us on the board right away! Despite a double play that cut the inning short, it was clear our lineup was ready to pounce.

Our defense held strong in the opening frames. Just look at Ezequiel Tovar, Brendan Rodgers, and Ryan McMahon all being retired in order during the Rockies' first at-bats.

Fourth Inning Explosion 💥

It was the fourth inning where we really flexed our muscles. Eloy Jiménez walked, setting the stage for Coby Mayo who capitalized on a fielding error to score him. That fielding blunder helped Mayo to third, and Cedric Mullins brought Mayo home with a single.

To top it off, James McCann launched a two-run homer to left center, pushing our lead to 5-0! What a shot! 🏆🎉

Strong Pitching & Smooth Fielding

The Rockies were pretty much kept in check as our pitchers delivered strikeout after strikeout. Cave, Beck, Romo—no one was spared. And when the Rockies did manage to put the bat on the ball, our fielding stood up to the challenge.

The only hiccup was in the seventh inning when Doyle scored on Nolan Jones’ single. But even then, our lead was too substantial to be threatened.

Closing It Out in Style 🚀

Jackson Holliday continued to impress by singling in the 7th and stealing second, setting himself up to score on Henderson's clutch single.

Come the ninth inning, although the Rockies tried to rally, our relievers G. Soto and Bowman closed the door efficiently. Props to Colton Cowser who came in as a pinch runner and added defensive depth.

Final score: Orioles 6, Rockies 1! Another great day to be an Orioles fan. Let’s enjoy this win, Birdland! 🧡💙
