Tough Loss in Seattle: Mariners 7, Orioles 3

Fellow Orioles fans, last night's game against the Mariners was a rollercoaster of emotions. We saw some shining moments but ultimately fell short, with the Mariners taking it 7-3. Here's the breakdown of the game:

Hot Start

We got off to a promising start in the top of the 3rd inning. James McCann singled to right, and then Gunnar Henderson sent a rocket over the left-field fence to put us ahead 2-0. That 378-foot homer had us buzzing with excitement early on! 🏃‍♂️💨💥

Cooling Off and Fighting Back

Unfortunately, our momentum hit a bump. Despite some clutch hitting, like Cedric Mullins' double in the 6th, we couldn’t bring any more runs home. The Mariners clawed back in the bottom of the 5th with Julio Rodríguez's 428-foot bomb to center, followed by a couple of singles and strategic plays to tie the game 2-2. 😟

Seventh Inning Struggles

The bottom of the 7th was the real heartbreaker. Julio Rodríguez and Ty France set the stage with a double and a walk, with Rodríguez then stealing third. A couple of strikeouts gave us hope, but J.P. Crawford and Mitch Garver delivered crushing blows, driving in five runs between them. That flipped the game to a 7-2 Mariners lead. 😓

Small Spark, But Too Late

Jordan Westburg tried to ignite a late reaction with a 403-foot shot to center in the top of the 8th. Despite a quick single from Mullins in the 9th, a double play and a groundout sealed our fate. The Mariners' bullpen kept us at bay, and we couldn’t mount the comeback we hoped for. 😕⚾

Keep your heads up, O’s fans! We showed flashes of brilliance, and there'll be plenty more opportunities to bounce back. On to the next one! 🦀⚾💪
