First Inning Highlights

Hey, fellow Red Sox fans! Let's talk about today's matchup against the Twins. We started strong in the top of the 1st inning despite Masataka Yoshida doubling to right and later scoring thanks to a throwing error. Yankees, eat your heart out! Our boys took an early 1-0 lead! 😎 Unfortunately, the Twins responded fast in the bottom half, as Ryan Jeffers knocked a single to center to bring them ahead 2-1. Gotta hand it to them; they capitalized on some early opportunities.

Second Inning Excitement

The bats were buzzing in the second inning as Marcelo Mayer and Ceddanne Rafaela set the table for Trevor Story to double, bringing home both runners. Story showed off his power and poise! 🥳 Our Red Sox took back the lead 5-2. But, the Twins showed their persistence, with Brooks Lee clobbering one over the left field wall to close the gap to 5-4. Still, we held the lead heading into the third.

Twins Pull Away

Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. The game got away from us in the fifth inning when the Twins' offense erupted. Byron Buxton delivered a two-run homer, and Victor Caratini added another two-run shot as they jumped ahead 9-5. They didn't let up with home runs from Kody Clemens and James Outman. Our defense couldn't quite hold the line, and the game wrapped up with the Twins, unfortunately, victorious at 15-6.

We’ve had some highs and lows today. It's tough when things don't go our way. Let's regroup and look forward to the next game, as our Sox have plenty more fight left in them! 🧢⚾️ Can't wait to see them bounce back!
