What a game, Cubs fans! Our beloved team took on the Colorado Rockies and came out on top with a final score of 6-2. Let's break down the action.

Strong Pitching and Early Leads​

We started off strong defensively in the first inning, with our pitching holding the Rockies scoreless. Despite a promising start at bat with singles from Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki, we couldn't convert and left three men on base.

The second inning saw some near misses, but the third inning is where we truly struck. Cody Bellinger's walk, followed by Isaac Paredes' walk, set the stage. Michael Busch then singled to center, bringing Bellinger home. A pivotal moment came with Nico Hoerner's infield single, scoring Paredes thanks to an error from Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar. Cubs up 2-0!

Rockies Fight Back​

The Rockies didn't go down without a fight as Jacob Stallings homered to left in the bottom of the 3rd, pulling it to 2-1. A tense couple of innings followed, with both teams struggling to score.

Busch and Crow-Armstrong Light It Up ​

The seventh inning saw Michael Busch extending our lead with a massive 438-foot homer to right, making it 3-1. The real fireworks came in the 9th inning when Busch smashed another homer, this time to right center at 468 feet. Following him, Pete Crow-Armstrong crushed a two-run homer to left, bringing Hoerner home and putting us comfortably ahead at 6-1.

Closing Out in Style ​

The bottom of the ninth saw the Rockies attempt a comeback with Michael Toglia scoring on a groundout, but it wasn’t enough. The game ended with Ezequiel Tovar striking out swinging, securing our victory at 6-2.
