Brewers Come Out on Top Against Cubs! 🎉

What a game, Brewers fans! The Cubs were in town, but Milwaukee walked away with a solid 4-2 victory. Let's dive into the highlights that made this game unforgettable.

Pitcher’s Duel Early On

Both teams had a slow start at bat, with neither managing to capitalize on their opportunities in the first three innings. Brice Turang and William Contreras couldn't find their rhythm in the bottom of the first, while the Cubs mirrored our efforts with their middle and bottom order struggling. Our pitching staff did a stellar job keeping the Cubs at bay. ⚾

Cubs Strike First, Then Chourio Answers Back 💥

In the top of the 4th inning, Chicago's Seiya Suzuki homered to left, putting the Cubs on the board. Not long after, Dansby Swanson hit a single that scored Ian Happ, giving the Cubs a 2-0 lead. However, the Brewers came roaring back in the bottom of the 4th inning. Christian Yelich showed his speed by stealing second after a fielder's choice, and Sal Frelick reached on catcher's interference. A huge moment followed when Rhys Hoskins reached on an infield single. Then, the star of the game, Jackson Chourio, delivered a clutch homer to left, driving in Yelich, Frelick, and Hoskins. That 3-run blast turned the game around, putting us ahead 4-2. 🔥

Pitching Staff Seals the Win

Our bullpen was lights out, starting with Peguero, who held the Cubs scoreless in the 6th. Koenig and Megill followed up with strong performances, keeping the Cubs from mounting any comeback attempts. Our pitchers combined for a total of 13 strikeouts, showing complete dominance on the mound. The top of the 9th was particularly intense, but Megill came through to close out the game, making sure the Cubs didn’t get a sniff at tying the score. 👊

Brewers Keep Rolling! 💪

With this win, we've shown once again that the Brewers are a force to be reckoned with. Great defense, timely hitting, and exceptional pitching were the keys to our success. A special shout-out to Jackson Chourio for his game-changing homer and to our pitching staff for their stellar performance.

Let's keep this momentum going, Brewers fans! Can't wait to see what the next game brings. Go Brewers! 🟡🔵
