A Rough Day at the Office for the Cubbies
We Cubs fans hoped for a much different outcome, but the Milwaukee Brewers were relentless today. The Cubbies fell short with a final score of 3-9. It started with a promising bang but quickly turned into a day we’d soon rather forget.Early Hope in the First Inning
The game began on a high note as Michael Busch smashed a homer to right-center (389 feet) to give us a 1-0 lead. But that was short-lived. The bottom of the first inning dampened spirits when the Brewers responded with six runs, capitalizing on an unfortunate error by Nico Hoerner and other timely hits.Battling Through the Middle Innings
The Brewers kept expanding their lead, scoring more in the second. Meanwhile, the Cubs' bats struggled. Notably, in the top of the 6th, Ian Happ belted a 415-foot homer to center, trying to ignite a comeback, trimming the difference a bit to 9-2. Nico Hoerner added a solo homer in the 8th (404 feet) to make it 9-3, but it wasn't enough.Closing It Out
In the final innings, the Cubs couldn't muster much offense, despite Dansby Swanson managing a double in the 9th. The Brewers' bullpen held strong, ensuring no miracle comeback for the Cubs today.Looking Ahead
Tough days happen, but we always stand by our Cubbies. Onward and upward, as they say. Let's regroup and come back stronger in the next game!
