The Phillies started off with a bang as Bryce Harper homered to center in the bottom of the 1st, giving them an early lead of 1-0. However, our Cubs answered back magnificently in the top of the 2nd. With bases loaded and a mix of patience and powerful hitting, we scored a massive 6 runs! Kudos to Seiya Suzuki, who doubled to left, and Cody Bellinger, who kept the momentum with an RBI single.Shutting Down the Phillies' Offense
Despite their early spark, the Phillies struggled against our pitchers. Drew Smyly and others, including a solid performance by our bullpen, effectively managed to contain the Phillies, allowing just one more run in the 2nd inning through a bunt single by Garrett Stubbs.Cubs Extend Their Lead
The 6th inning was another highlight for us. Cody Bellinger came up clutch with a triple that brought in 3 more runs. The inning didn't stop there, as Isaac Paredes grounded out but managed to score Bellinger, bringing the score to 10-2.Final Push and Closing the Deal
Though Kyle Schwarber homered again in the 8th inning, it was not enough for the Phillies to mount a comeback. Hayden Wesneski and the bullpen sealed the victory, shutting the Phillies out in the 7th and 9th innings with some excellent pitching.Star Performances
