Tough Loss in Baltimore

Hey White Sox fans, this one's a tough pill to swallow. We kicked off strong but just couldn't hold onto the lead as the Baltimore Orioles came alive in the later innings, ultimately defeating our Sox 13-3. 😢

A Promising Start

Our boys started the game on fire. Nicky Lopez got things rolling with a single to right and later scored on a sac fly by Andrew Benintendi. Gavin Sheets followed suit with an RBI single, bringing Corey Julks home. We were up 2-0 early in the first. However, the Orioles answered back with a solo homer by their powerhouse, Gunnar Henderson, trimming our lead to 2-1.

Struggles on the Mound

Our pitching began to falter as the game progressed. Although Mike Clevinger held his own in the first couple of innings, the Orioles' relentless offense finally broke through. Our bullpen couldn't stop the bleeding, and the Orioles added multiple runs in the 5th and 6th innings, including a bases-clearing triple by Emmanuel Rivera. By the end of the 6th inning, they had extended their lead to 11-2. 😩

Late Game Woes

In the 8th inning, Cedric Mullins capped off the Orioles' offensive explosion with a two-run homer. We had a small glimmer of hope in the 8th, with Julks bringing home a run to make it 11-3, but it was too little too late. Our guys couldn't muster any more in the 9th, and the game concluded with the Orioles on top 13-3.

Bright Spots and What's Next

On the bright side, Corey Julks showed some great resilience with multiple hits, and Nicky Lopez continues to be a catalyst at the top of the lineup. Now, we need to regroup and focus on the next game. Let's stay positive, Sox fans—better days are ahead! 🌞

Hang in there, everyone! 🖤
