Game Summary: Rockies @ Diamondbacks

What a nail-biter! The Diamondbacks came from behind to secure an exhilarating 5-4 win over the Rockies. Here's a breakdown of the game from a D-backs fan's perspective. 😃⚾

Early Innings - Defense Shines

The game kicked off with both teams showing strong defense. In the top of the 1st, the Rockies couldn't get anything past our pitchers, ending with a 0-0 score. Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Joc Pederson all went down quickly in our half of the inning, leaving the score tied.

2nd Inning - Diamondbacks Take Early Lead

Josh Bell knocked a double to center, and Jake McCarthy's double brought him home, giving us an early lead! While we couldn't capitalize further, it was a promising start. Diamondbacks 1, Rockies 0.

3rd and 4th Inning - Rockies Fight Back

The Rockies quickly responded in the 3rd, with Elias Díaz driving in Jake Cave to level the score. The 4th inning saw the Rockies pulling ahead with two runs, making it 3-1. We struggled at bat, with Pederson, Bell, and McCarthy unable to convert.

6th Inning - Momentum Shifts

The Rockies extended their lead to 4-1 with a homer from Brendan Rodgers. But our offense exploded in the bottom of the 6th! Bell and McCarthy drove in runs, and fresh energy off the bench saw the Rockies' lead shrink to 4-3. Kevin Newman hit a single, and then McCarthy scored, tying it up! Diamondbacks 4, Rockies 4.

7th Inning - Taking the Lead!

After Kevin Newman singled, a wild pitch by Kinley allowed Carroll to score. Another wild pitch, and Newman crossed the plate! We took the lead, 5-4! The fans went wild! 🎉

8th and 9th Innings - Holding Steady

Top defense contributed significantly in the final innings. Thompson and Martinez were rock-solid, ensuring no Rockies' comeback. Despite a single by Michael Toglia, a double play started by Marte and finished at first sealed the game!

Final Thoughts

What a thrilling win for the Diamondbacks! Our bats woke up just in time, and our bullpen closed it flawlessly. Big shout-outs to McCarthy and Newman for their clutch performances. Let's keep this momentum going! Go D-Backs! 💪🐍
