Brewers Battle Hard But Come Up Short Against Rockies

Hey Brewers fans, what a nail-biter of a game! Unfortunately, we came up just a smidge short against the Colorado Rockies with a final score of 3-2. Let's break down what went down at American Family Field.

Early Lead For The Brewers! 🥳

The game kicked off with a bit of a slow start, but in the bottom of the 2nd inning, things started to heat up. Jake Bauers walked and stole second. Joey Ortiz came through with a clutch single to right, sending Bauers home for the first run of the game. Ortiz added some spice by stealing second, but we couldn’t capitalize further.

Pitching Showcase Until The 6th Inning 🧢

Our pitching staff was lights out through the first five innings. The Rockies were really struggling to get anything going. However, the 6th inning was a different story. With two outs and runners on, Michael Toglia launched a three-run homer to center field, which unfortunately gave the Rockies a 3-1 lead. That one hurt, folks.

Fighting Back (Sort Of) In The 7th Inning 💪

We answered back in the bottom of the 7th. Blake Perkins singled to right and stole second, setting the stage for another run. Ortiz once again played the hero, reaching on an infield single and scoring Perkins on a throwing error by the Rockies’ second baseman Aaron Schunk. This brought us within one run (3-2).

Close, But No Cigar 😧

The 9th inning gave us a glimmer of hope. Jake Bauers drew a crucial walk, and we brought in Brewer Hicklen as a pinch-runner. Hicklen stole second, giving us a fantastic opportunity. However, a flyout by Rhys Hoskins turned into a double play, ending the game and our chances of a comeback.

Despite the loss, there were bright spots! Ortiz's clutch hits and Bauers' hustle on the base paths gave us reasons to cheer.

Keep your heads up, Brewers fans! We'll get 'em next time! 💙🤍⚾
