Tigers Start Slow but Finish Strong

Hey Tigers fans! What a game as our boys took on the Royals and came out victorious with a 4-2 win! 🎉

Shaky Start for the Tigers

The game opened with a bit of a rocky start. Parker Meadows lined out, and though Kerry Carpenter got hit by a pitch, we couldn't capitalize, leaving Spencer Torkelson and Wenceel Pérez stranded after Riley Greene and Jace Jung struck out. The Royals grabbed an early lead in their half of the inning with Tommy Pham scoring off a single from Yuli Gurriel. Not the start we were hoping for. 😞

Game-Tying Moment in the 2nd

The Tigers got on the board in the top of the 2nd inning thanks to a pair of errors by the Royals. Zach McKinstry drew a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jake Rogers then reached on an infield single, bringing McKinstry home due to a throwing error by their pitcher. Tied 1-1! 🏃‍♂️

Explosive 3rd Inning for the Tigers

This was the turning point: Riley Greene blasted a solo homer to right (427 feet), and from there, we didn't look back. Big moments from Jace Jung and Trey Sweeney, who doubled to bring in two more runs. By the end of the inning, we were up 4-1. 💪

Pitching Shut Down Royals' Momentum

Our pitching staff was on fire! After the 2nd inning, they held the Royals scoreless through the 3rd to 7th innings. Major shoutout to our bullpen for maintaining the lead. The Royals managed only one more run in the 8th, but it wasn’t enough. Big kudos to our relievers who kept their cool under pressure. 🔥

Securing the Win

Closing out, Will Vest came in and shut down any hope the Royals had with a dominant 9th inning. We finished strong with the Royals' final batter striking out looking. Game over and the Tigers win, 4-2! 🙌

All in all, it was a great team effort, and it's always a pleasure to see the Tigers come out on top. Let's keep this momentum going! Go Tigers! 🐯⚾
