Heartbreaker in Seattle: Tigers Fall Short Against Mariners

Hey Tigers fans, what a rollercoaster of a game! 🐯 We faced the Seattle Mariners and, sadly, came up just a bit short in a nail-biting finish. Let's dive into the highs and lows of the game.

Slow Start for Both Teams

In the early innings, both teams struggled to get any momentum. Our boys had a quiet first three innings, with Wenceel Pérez, Colt Keith, and Matt Vierling all going down quickly. Meanwhile, Victor Robles and company from Seattle didn't fare any better against our solid pitching. It was a pitching duel, but not the good kind!

Explosive 5th Inning

The 5th inning finally brought some fireworks! Bligh Madris and Justyn-Henry Malloy got things moving with back-to-back singles. Then, it was Parker Meadows who doubled and brought in Madris for our first run! 🌟 Zach McKinstry followed up with a clutch double, adding two more runs to the scoreboard. Tigers up 3-0! 🥳

Mariners Bite Back

Seattle managed to chip away at our lead, with Luke Raley smashing a solo home run in the 6th. Despite our solid defense, the 9th inning was a killer. With the bases loaded, Mitch Haniger hit a double that cleared the bases, giving the Mariners a walk-off victory, 4-3. That one hurt. 😢

Closing Thoughts

While it was disappointing to see the game slip away in the final inning, there were some bright spots. Zach McKinstry had a great game with that clutch double, and Parker Meadows showcased his batting skills. Let's hope the Tigers can bounce back in the next game! 💪

Let's keep our heads up, fans! The season is a marathon, not a sprint. Go Tigers! 🐅
