Royals Storm Back to Defeat Nationals 7-4

What an amazing game for our Kansas City Royals! The night started slowly, but ended with a thrilling victory over the Washington Nationals, 7-4 😄.

Quiet Start for Royals

The game began with a quiet first inning where Tommy Pham, Bobby Witt Jr., and Salvador Perez couldn't find their way to the bases. The Nationals took an early lead when Dylan Crews scored on a fielding error. Not the best way to start, but our boys never lost heart.

Renfroe’s Solo Homer

In the second inning, Hunter Renfroe tied the game with a massive 424-foot homer to center field. 💣 Boom! That really got the fans buzzing.

Big Third Inning Surge

The third inning was a game-changer. Paul DeJong walked, Garrett Hampson singled, and then Tommy Pham brought DeJong home with another single. With the floodgates open, Bobby Witt Jr. and Yuli Gurriel also picked up RBIs, and the Royals took a commanding 4-1 lead.

Nationals Fight Back

Credit to the Nationals, who didn't go down easy. Their own third inning was highlighted by a 400-foot homer from Luis Garcia Jr., tying the game at 4-4. It was tense, but our bullpen held firm when it mattered most.

Clutch 9th Inning Rally

Fast forward to the 9th inning, still tied at 4-4, the Royals really showed their mettle. MJ Melendez drew a walk and Dairon Blanco came in as a pinch runner, stealing second base 👟💨. Then came the moment of the game: Adam Frazier hit a clutch single to left field, bringing home Blanco and Michael Massey. Not done yet, Salvador Perez drove in another run to make it 7-4.

Closing it Out

Deolis Guerra closed the door, retiring the Nationals in the bottom of the 9th with ease. When Gallo struck out and Jacob Young grounded out, it was game over! What a win!

This game had everything - drama, big plays, and a lot of heart. Way to go, Royals! 🥳👑
