Tough Loss for the Halos Against Astros

The Los Angeles Angels fought hard but ultimately fell short with a final score of 9-7 against the Houston Astros. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, but we can hold our heads high knowing our boys in red gave it their all!

Early Innings Struggle 😬

The game started quietly for our Angels. In the top of the 1st inning, Taylor Ward fouled out to first, Zach Neto grounded out to third, and Nolan Schanuel flied out to right. The Astros took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd with Mauricio Dubón hitting a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Yainer Diaz.

Third Inning Comeback Attempt 💪

In the top of the 3rd, Gustavo Campero tripled to right, which was followed by Jack Lopez singling to left, scoring Campero and tying the game 1-1. But the Astros quickly answered back, with Alex Bregman hitting a two-run homer and a three-run homer by Jake Meyers, putting them ahead 6-1.

Mid-Inning Push 🚀

Kevin Pillar scored in the 4th inning with Eric Wagaman singling to right. Matt Thaiss drove in two more runs, making it 8-6 in the top of the 5th. Kyle Tucker extended the Astros’ lead to 9-6 with a solo homer in the 6th.

Nail-Biting Late Innings 🫣

Pillar hit a solo shot in the top of the 7th, making it 9-7. Unfortunately, that's where the scoring stopped for our Halos. We struggled against the Astros' bullpen with Pressly and Hader shutting the door on any further comeback attempts.

Final Thoughts 🛡️

It's always a tough pill to swallow when you lose, especially when the team shows so much heart. Despite the loss, we saw some great highlights from Gustavo Campero and Jack Lopez, and Kevin Pillar's homer gave us hope until the end.

Let’s keep supporting our Angels and hope for better luck in the next game! 💥🔴⚾
