Tough Loss in KC

Hey Halos fans, we faced a challenging game against the Royals and unfortunately came up short with a 3-5 final score. Let’s break down what happened inning by inning.

Pitchers Duel Early

In the first two innings, both teams couldn’t get any runs across the board. Our batters like Taylor Ward and Zach Neto couldn’t get any hits, striking out and grounding out, respectively, while Nolan Schanuel managed to double but was left stranded. On the other hand, Michael Fulmer held off the Royals, despite giving up a few walks.

Royals Strike First

In the bottom of the 3rd, Salvador Perez singled to bring in Massey, putting the Royals up 1-0. Then, in the 4th, Paul DeJong hit a 397-foot homer, driving in Frazier and extending their lead to 3-0.

Rally Time

Despite the early struggles, the 7th inning saw some hope. Brandon Drury walked, and Mickey Moniak doubled, setting the stage for Jo Adell who came through with a clutch double, scoring Drury and Moniak! At this point, it was 3-2 Royals.

Painful Blow

However, the Royals answered right back in the bottom of the 7th. Salvador Perez doubled, driving in two more runs, making it 5-2. This was a tough pill to swallow as our momentum was quickly halted.

Neto Goes Deep

In the 8th inning, Zach Neto provided a bright spot, hitting a solo homer to bring us to 5-3. But from then on, their pitching shut us down.

Final Hopes Dashed

In the 9th inning, we had a leadoff single from Logan O'Hoppe, but Brandon Drury grounded into a double play, and Mickey Moniak lined out to end our comeback bid.

Conclusion

Despite the loss, there were some highlights like Jo Adell’s clutch hitting and Zach Neto’s home run. We'll get them next time, Angels fans! Keep the faith and stay tuned for the next game! 🏟️⚾🅰️
