A Tough Loss in Extra Innings
Hey Angels Fans!
We had a nail-biter today against the Nationals that unfortunately didn’t go our way, ending with a 5-4 loss in the bottom of the 10th inning. Let’s dive into the game highlights and key moments.
Strong Start by the Angels
The game started quietly for both teams in the 1st inning with no runs scored. Taylor Ward got us on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning by singling to right and eventually scoring on Brandon Drury’s sacrifice fly. Early lead, but the Nationals quickly evened it up with a solo homer by James Wood.Mid-Inning Momentum
In the 4th, Ward and Rendon set us up beautifully. Ward's infield single followed by Rendon’s hit got Ward to third, enabling him to come home thanks to Drury’s RBI single. Tied 2-2 but not for long! A booming 405-foot homer from Zach Neto in the 5th inning and Logan O'Hoppe scoring on Kevin Pillar’s double got us a solid 4-2 lead. 
Nationals Fight Back
The Nationals didn’t back down in the 7th inning with Yepez and Wood hitting key RBIs to level the game at 4-4. Our bullpen did well containing them after, but the tension was real! Stranding runners in the 8th and 9th innings, both teams entered the extra innings with the game knotted up.Falling Short in the 10th
In the 10th inning, we had Pillar starting on second base but couldn’t capitalize as Ward, Rendon, and Adell were retired consecutively. The Nationals, however, got a critical run after CJ Abrams moved to third on a wild pitch and then scored on Jose Tena’s single.Final Thoughts
It’s tough to see us lose in such a close game and extra innings like this, but let’s not lose heart! There were some really great performances by Ward, Neto, and Pillar tonight. On to the next game, Angels fans! Let's stay optimistic!
