Opening Strong!
What a tremendous start for the Miami Marlins!
In the top of the 1st, the bats came alive as Connor Norby singled and Jesus Sánchez doubled, driving in the first run. Jonah Bride crushed a two-run homer to left, giving us a sweet 3-0 lead right off the bat. 
Adding to the Lead
The momentum continued in the 2nd inning. After Otto Lopez singled and Kyle Stowers walked, Xavier Edwards tripled to right, bringing both runners home! We were up 5-0 before you knew it. Jake Burger and Jesus Sánchez also managed to score from some heads-up baserunning on wild pitches and errors.Blue Jays Respond
The Blue Jays tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Nathan Lukes doubled, driving in Leo Jimenez, followed by a single from Spencer Horwitz that brought in two more, closing the gap to 6-3. Our defense held tight, though, and they couldn't get anything more past us!More Marlins Magic
Edwards was on fire tonight! Another triple in the 4th brought in two more runs, and Griffin Conine followed with a single to extend our lead to 9-3. The Blue Jays hit a solo homer by Ernie Clement, but that barely put a dent in their deficit.Pulling Away in the 7th and 8th
The 7th inning was all about the Marlins. Conine homered
to left, and with some solid hitting and base-running by Edwards, Norby, Burger, and Kyle Stowers, we piled up the runs. By the end of the 7th, we were leading 14-5.That wasn't it, though—Bride launched his second homer in the top of the 8th, to make it 15-5. The spirit of the Blue Jays was broken by now, and our bullpen kept them in check until the end.
Wrapping It Up
An all-around amazing game for our Marlins! Big shoutout to Xavier Edwards for his incredible hitting and Jonah Bride for those two awesome homers.
