Tough Loss for the Brewers

Hey Brewers fans, we had a nail-biter of a game today against the Pirates, but unfortunately, we came up short with a final score of 1-2. It was a pitching duel for most of the game, but here’s the key breakdown:

Early Lead for the Brewers

It started promisingly for us in the top of the 2nd inning when Jake Bauers smashed a homer to right center (402 feet) to put us up 1-0. What a shot! We were feeling optimistic with that early lead. 💪

Pitching Showdown

Both pitchers were dealing after that. Shoutout to our starter who kept the Pirates hitters at bay, racking up strikeouts and not allowing any runs until the 5th inning. William Contreras and Sal Frelick had some decent at-bats, but the Pirates' defense held up under pressure.

Pirates Strike Back

The bottom of the 5th inning was a tough one. Yasmani Grandal and Nick Yorke drew walks, setting the stage for Liover Peguero, who hit a double to left that brought in two runs. That put the Pirates ahead 2-1, and unfortunately, we couldn't claw our way back. 😔

Close but Not Enough

In the top of the 9th, we had one last shot to tie or take the lead. Blake Perkins pinch-hit for Garrett Mitchell and struck out swinging, leaving it all up to Willy Adames. Adames singled to left but was thrown out stretching at second, sealing the game for the Pirates.

Overall, it was a tough loss, but there's always another game to look forward to! Let's keep our heads up and root for our Brewers to bounce back. Go Brew Crew! 🔵⚾🟡
