Twins' Offensive Struggles Continue to Plague Us
Despite a valiant effort, our Minnesota Twins couldn't get the bats going against the Miami Marlins.
Marlins' Pitching Proved Tough to Crack
The Marlins pitching staff did a tremendous job of keeping us off balance all game long. Castro managed an infield single and a stolen base, but Carlos Correa and the others couldn't capitalize. Matt Wallner walking showed some patience at the plate, but ultimately, Brooks Lee ended the threat with a strikeout in the seventh inning. The Marlins held us scoreless with a combination of strong pitching and timely defensive plays, making sure nothing got past their defense.Marlins' Offense Punctuates the Close Battle
It was a tight contest throughout, but the Marlins managed to get on the scoreboard first when Kyle Stowers launched a 369-foot homer in the bottom of the second inning. Our pitching kept it close for most of the game, but Jesus Sánchez created trouble again with a triple in the eighth, setting the stage for Nick Fortes to drive in another run, bringing the score to 2-0. Unfortunately, the Marlins never looked back, and that was all they needed to secure their victory over us.
In the 9th inning, when everything was on the line, our hitters couldn't find answers; Buxton, Larnach, and Castro went down in order to end the game. Hang in there, Twins fans—our resilience has gotten us through tough stretches before and will again!
