Exciting Start for the Twins

Well, Twins fans, we had a promising start in the top of the 1st inning! 😊 Willi Castro showed some grit but unfortunately struck out swinging. Trevor Larnach walked and then Matt Wallner stepped up big time with a double to right, allowing Larnach to score! 🎉 We took an early lead with 1-0, but sadly, Carlos Santana grounded out to end the inning. Still, what a way to begin!

Padres Respond Quickly

In the bottom of the 1st, the Padres responded. Luis Arraez was hit by pitch and soon after, Jurickson Profar singled, which led to Jake Cronenworth scoring Arraez on a ground out. Xander Bogaerts then brought Profar home with a single. Suddenly, we're trailing 2-1 after just one inning.

Back and Forth Battle

Top of the 2nd brought more action from our boys! Edouard Julien singled and moved up to third thanks to Christian Vázquez. With the bases loaded, Castro grounded into a fielder’s choice but scored Julien, tying the game at 2-2. Unfortunately, the inning ended with Larnach striking out swinging.

Trouble in the 3rd Inning

The bottom of the 3rd was a bit rough. Jurickson Profar reached on an error and Manny Machado flied out, but the bases soon filled up. Jackson Merrill brought in three runs with a double, putting the Padres up 5-2. Our defense finished strong, but the damage was done.

Struggles at the Plate

Our batting lineup had a tough stretch from the 4th to the 7th inning. Austin Martin got a single in the 4th, but double plays and strikeouts kept us off the board. We needed that mid-game spark, but it just didn’t come through.

Trying to Rally

Come the top of the 8th and 9th innings, we were still pushing. In the 9th, Julien walked and stole second, and Vázquez scored him with an infield single. With two outs, Jose Miranda stepped in as a pinch hitter but grounded out to end the game. The final score was Padres 5, Twins 3.

Final Thoughts

A tough loss, folks, but we had our moments! Matt Wallner and Christian Vázquez definitely showed up today. Let’s keep our heads up and focus on the next game. There's a lot of baseball left to play, and we're just getting started! ⚾💪

GO TWINS!
