A Dominant Start for the Marlins 💪

Under the Miami sun, the Marlins started off strong against the Mets! In the bottom of the 2nd inning, our bats began to heat up. Otto Lopez doubled to left, followed by an infield single from Jesus Sanchez. Thanks to an error, Xavier Edwards managed to score Lopez, while Emmanuel Rivera brought in Sanchez with a sacrifice fly. We ended the inning leading 2-0.

The Momentum Continues 🌊

The third inning saw more action for Miami. Jazz Chisholm Jr. led off with a single and then stole second. This set up Jake Burger to double him home. Next, Josh Bell singled to score Burger, extending our lead to 4-0. What a fantastic offensive rush!

Mets Fight Back but Marlins Hold Strong 💥

The Mets tried to rally back in the fifth and sixth innings. Jeff McNeil launched a homer in the fifth, followed by another home run in the sixth, which brought them within one. However, our bullpen stepped up big time! Anthony Bender, Tanner Scott, and A.J. Puk held their ground to maintain our lead.

Insurance Runs and a Dominant Finish 🚀

The bottom of the 8th inning was crucial. Fortes singled to left to score Otto Lopez, giving us a much-needed insurance run, increasing our lead to 6-4. In the top of the 9th, Tanner Scott shut the door, striking out Brandon Nimmo and getting Pete Alonso to pop out to seal the victory.

Final Thoughts 🏆

What an incredible team effort for the Marlins! Our bats were alive tonight, and the bullpen showed resilience under pressure. Shout out to Jake Burger for his crucial hits and Jazz Chisholm Jr. for setting the tone early. This win brings us closer in the standings and keeps our playoff hopes alive!

Let’s keep this momentum going, Marlins fans! 🙌💙🧡
