A Tough Loss for the Mets 😞

Well, Mets fans, last night's game against the Brewers was a rough ride. The final score of 4-8 doesn't quite capture all the ups and downs we faced. Let's break it down.

Rough Start 😬

In the top of the first inning, we had a promising start with Francisco Lindor walking, but things took a turn. Mark Vientos struck out looking, Brandon Nimmo lined out, and Pete Alonso grounded out. Then, the Brewers came out swinging. After a few plays, Rhys Hoskins hit a homer, driving in four runs. Ouch. End of the 1st: Brewers 4, Mets 0.

Small Comebacks 🏃‍♂️⚾

We finally got on the board in the top of the 3rd inning with a two-run homer by Mark Vientos, scoring Francisco Alvarez. That felt good! But the Brewers answered back, and by the end of the 4th inning, they were up 6-2.

More Opportunities Missed 😕

Despite some solid plays, we couldn’t seem to gain traction. Iglesias and Winker couldn't string together enough hits to close the gap. Each time we had runners in scoring positions, the Brewers' defense held strong. By the 6th inning, we were still trailing 2-6.

A Glimmer of Hope ✨

In the top of the 8th inning, things started to look up! Brandon Nimmo's single, followed by Pete Alonso's hit, loaded the bases. A sacrifice fly by Harrison Bader made it 7-3. Our boy J.D. Martinez then reached on an error, scoring another run. Brewers were leading 7-4, and it felt like we still had a chance.

Final Nail in the Coffin 😩

But alas, the Brewers’ Gary Sanchez hit a solo homer to left in the bottom of the 8th, putting them up 8-4. The top of the 9th saw Francisco Lindor trying to spark a comeback with a single, but sadly, the Mets couldn't convert, ending with a strikeout by Brandon Nimmo.

Conclusion 🎤

A tough loss to swallow, but we're Mets fans—we know how to stay resilient! There's always the next game to look forward to. Let’s keep our spirits high and root for the Mets to bounce back. 💙🧡
