Tough Game for Brewers
Well, Brewers fans, it was a tough one out there today as our team fell to the Mets with a final score of 5-0.
Let's break down what happened inning by inning.Early Mets Lead
Right from the start, we saw the Mets capitalize. In the top of the 1st inning, Francisco Lindor walked and then stole second. He came home on a single by Brandon Nimmo. Unfortunately, we couldn't answer back in the bottom of the inning as Eric Haase struck out swinging with runners on base.Missed Opportunities
The second inning saw us with some opportunities. Blake Perkins walked, but Gary Sánchez and Joey Ortiz couldn't bring him around to score. We had runners but just couldn't get them home.
Mets Extend Their Lead
The Mets added to their lead in the 4th inning with J.D. Martinez and Francisco Alvarez getting hits that brought in more runs. By the end of the inning, the score was 0-3. Things didn't get any better for us in the 5th inning when the Mets scored again, making it 0-4.Lindor’s Homer
To add salt to the wound, Francisco Lindor hit a homerun in the 6th inning, which made the score 0-5. Even though our bullpen, featuring Milner and Hall, held the Mets scoreless afterward, our bats just couldn't find any rhythm.Struggles Continue
In the later innings, we struggled against the Mets' defense. Brice Turang, Jackson Chourio, and Willy Adames all grounded out in the 8th inning despite a brief rally attempt with hits from Sánchez and Turang. Even pinch-hitter Garrett Mitchell struck out swinging in the 9th, leaving us scoreless.Final
