Tough Day at the Park for the Brew Crew

Last night’s game against the Yankees was one Brewers fans might want to forget. Despite a glimmer of hope in the 5th, our Brewers couldn’t keep pace with a relentless Yankees offense, falling 15-5. Let’s break it down, though not without acknowledging it was rough from the start. 😞

Early Hopes Dashed by Late Inning Surges

Things started off promisingly enough, with both teams holding their own in the first few innings. Aaron Judge’s solo homer in the 1st got the Yankees on the board, but our pitchers were keeping us in the game. It was in the 5th inning that we saw a glimmer of what could have been, highlighted by a Jake Bauers homer that drove in three, tying the game at 4-4. For a moment, it felt like the momentum was ours. 🙌

The Turning Point

The 6th inning, however, was where the game got away from us. The Yankees loaded the bases and then some, with Jose Trevino, Anthony Volpe, and Juan Soto all driving in runs. Before we knew it, the score was 11-4, and the climb from there became too steep. The Yankees weren’t done, though, piling on more runs in the 7th and 8th innings.

Our Brewers kept fighting, though, with a modest rally in the 6th highlighted by Blake Perkins walking to bring in a run. But every time we found a spark, the Yankees seemed to have an answer. 😓

Looking for Silver Linings

In the face of a tough loss, there were still some positives to take away. Sal Frelick, William Contreras, and Willy Adames had moments of brilliance at the plate. And Jake Bauers, despite ending up on the mound in a less-than-ideal situation, showed some of the versatility and spirit that makes this team special.

As fans, we live for the highs and endure the lows with our team. Last night was undeniably a low, but the belief in our Brewers remains unshaken. Let's rally behind our Crew, look forward to the next game, and believe in the turnaround that’s surely coming. Onwards and upwards, Brew Crew! 🍻✨
