Tough Loss in Extras!
Ugh, this one stings, fellow Phillies fans. We battled hard against the Dodgers, taking things into extra innings, but ultimately fell 2-1 in the 11th. It was a pitching duel rife with tension and missed chances.Early Innings Drama
Things started pretty standard, with both teams struggling to get on the board early. Kyle Schwarber managed a double in the 1st, but we couldn't capitalize on it. Meanwhile, our own Tyler Glasnow was dealing on the mound, keeping the Dodgers' heavy hitters like Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts at bay. No score through six innings. Finally Breakthrough!
The 7th inning brought hope as Nick Castellanos popped a key double, allowing Max Kepler to score after benefiting from the Dodgers' pitching error. We finally broke the deadlock and went up 1-0! However, the Dodgers did manage to answer back in their half, leveling things at 1-1 courtesy of a Mookie Betts walk. Talk about intensity!Spectacular Pitching in Extras
The bullpen guys were on point! Duran and Sánchez kept the Dodgers silent, and Luzardo added his magic in the 10th with a clutch strikeout of Ohtani. Harper's walk and an advance on a wild pitch in the 11th got us hopeful, but we lacked the knockout punch to cross home plate again.Heartbreak in the 11th
The bottom of the 11th saw the Dodgers using their Incense against us when a fielding error by pitcher Kerkering allowed Kim to score, sealing our fate. It's always tough losing in extra innings, especially with how well we battled.Keep your chins up, Phillies fans!
We'll get them next time! Onward to the next game.
