Tough Loss for the Mets at Citi Field
Hey Mets fans, it was a rough night for our boys as we fell 12-2 to the Phillies. The game started on a high note, but it quickly spiraled out of control. Let's break down what happened:First Inning Bliss
The game began fantastically with Jose Iglesias launching a solo home run to center field, putting us up 1-0. Starling Marte followed with an infield single, and Mark Vientos walked. We soon capitalized on a wild pitch to move the runners up, and then Pete Alonso struck out swinging. Brandon Nimmo grounded out but brought Marte home, making it 2-0. Sadly, J.D. Martinez's groundout ended the inning.Second Inning Misfortunes
The Phillies cut our lead in the second inning when Alec Bohm scored on a sacrifice fly. Our bats went silent as Luis Torrens struck out, Harrison Bader walked, and Luisangel Acuña flied out to center. Jose Iglesias struck out swinging to end the inning.
