Solid Start from Schwarber 💥

The game got off to an electrifying start with Kyle Schwarber hammering a homer to right field in the top of the 1st, sending the ball 428 feet! 🎉 That put us on the board early, Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 1. Unfortunately, Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, and Alec Bohm couldn't keep the momentum going as they each struck out swinging. Nonetheless, a lead is a lead!

Strong Defensive Innings 🛡️

The Mariners struggled to get any offense going in the first few innings. Our pitchers were solid, and our defense kept Seattle at bay. Raleigh did manage a double in the 1st inning, but no damage was done as Polanco grounded out to the pitcher to end the inning.

Quiet Middle Innings 🤐

The 2nd through 6th innings were a bit of a stalemate. Though Harper had a couple of singles, our bats went relatively quiet. The Mariners couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities they had with Raleigh getting on base.

Explosive 8th Inning 💥

What an 8th inning! It all started with Bryson Stott launching a homer to right center (404 feet), making it Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 2. The hits kept coming as Schwarber lined out, but Turner walked, leading to a two-run homer from Harper (391 feet), bringing the score to Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 4. Then Bohm joined the party with a solo homer to left (380 feet) to make it Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 5. Brandon Marsh singled and stole second, followed by J.T. Realmuto bringing him home with a single. Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 6! 🙌

Closing it Out 🚫

The Mariners made one last attempt but couldn't get past our pitchers. The bottom of the 9th was sealed with Ruiz coming in to relieve Wheeler and locking it down. Polanco struck out swinging to end the game, Mariners Score: 0, Phillies Score: 6.

Final Thoughts 💬

This was a masterclass in both pitching and batting from the Phils. Schwarber, Harper, and Bohm were absolute monsters at the plate, and our defense held strong throughout. What a game, and what a win for the Phillies! Let's keep this momentum going! 🏆
