Pete Crow-Armstrong tried his best in center field, but a throwing error allowed Bogaerts to get to third base. Despite this hiccup, our defense held strong, and that would be the only run they'd score.The Turning Point 
All it took was the electrifying 5th inning to change the game. Enter Seiya Suzuki, whose powerful swing sent a homer soaring 424 feet to center field, lighting up the scoreboard for the Cubs! Not to be outdone, Carson Kelly followed it up immediately, launching one to left center. Back-to-back homers brought the Cubs into the lead, and the crowd erupted! What an incredible display of hitting prowess!

Sealing the Deal 
Our bullpen was on fire today! With excellent relief appearances from Palencia, Pomeranz, Kittredge, and finally, Keller, the Cubs kept any hopes of a Padres comeback firmly at bay. And let's not forget about Nico Hoerner's sacrifice fly in the 8th inning that gave us an insurance run by bringing Dansby Swanson home, widening our lead to 3-1.Final Thoughts
