The game started off as a pitching showdown, with both teams struggling to get base hits in the opening innings. It wasn't until the bottom of the 4th inning that Jake Burger and Jonah Bride launched solo homers to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead. The Padres' bats were quiet until the 8th inning, making it a tense game.Profar and Machado Ignite the Offense 
Finally, in the top of the 8th inning, Jurickson Profar doubled and later scored on a Manny Machado double to center field, cutting the Marlins' lead to 2-1. The momentum was starting to swing our way, and the excitement was just beginning!Merrill Ties It Up, Sends Us to Extra Innings 
Fast forward to the top of the 9th, Jackson Merrill came through in the clutch, hitting a solo homer to center field to level the score at 2-2. The tension was palpable as we headed into extra innings with newfound hope.Extra Innings Explosion! Padres Seal the Deal 
In the top of the 10th inning, the Padres' offense exploded! Luis Arraez singled, and pinch-runner Tyler Wade advanced to third. Jake Cronenworth's fielder's choice brought Wade home, giving us a 3-2 lead. The highlight of the night was Manny Machado smashing a double to center, scoring Arraez and Cronenworth. Before the inning was over, Jackson Merrill added another RBI single, bringing the score to 6-2. What a turnaround!Closing It Out 
In the bottom of the 10th, Kyle Higashioka took over catching duties while pitcher Will Scott ensured the Marlins didn’t pose any more threats. Despite Otto Lopez reaching first, our defense shut down any hopes Miami had for a comeback. Vidal Brujan, Cristian Pache, and pinch-hitter Jhonny Pereda were all retired, sealing our victory.Final Thoughts
