Mariners’ Early Spark Snuffed by Padres’ Rally in 7-3 Loss

The Seattle Mariners gave us a promising start last night, but the momentum fizzled out, and unfortunately, we fell to the San Diego Padres 7-3. 😔 Here's a rundown of the highs and lows of the game.

First Inning Highlights

Cal Raleigh got us off to a fantastic start with a solo homer (395 feet) to right field! Luke Raley followed suit in the second inning with another solo shot (367 feet) to right. It looked like we were set up for a strong showing. Go M's! 🙌

Padres’ Counterattack

The Padres struck back hard in the 3rd inning. After Donovan Solano and Luis Arraez got on base, Fernando Tatis Jr. launched a three-run homer, flipping the lead to 3-2, Padres. It was a tough blow after our good start. 😕

Sixth Inning Struggles

The start of the 6th inning was painful, to say the least. Manny Machado hammered a two-run homer (429 feet), driving in Jurickson Profar and extending the Padres' lead to 5-2. George Kirby was relieved by JT Chargois, who managed to get us out of the inning with minimal further damage.

Missed Opportunities in 7th

We had a decent chance to rally in the 7th. After Justin Turner and Jorge Polanco singled, J.P. Crawford drove in Turner, making it 7-3. Sadly, Dylan Moore struck out looking with bases loaded, and Victor Robles walked, but Julio Rodríguez grounded into a double play, killing the inning. So close, yet so far! 😫

Failed Comeback Attempt

In the bottom of the 9th, J.P. Crawford and Dylan Moore couldn't find a way to keep the inning alive. Victor Robles singled to give us a spark, but Julio Rodríguez struck out swinging, ending the game.

Final Thoughts

Despite the early fireworks from Cal Raleigh and Luke Raley, the Mariners couldn't capitalize on the momentum, and the Padres' heavy hitters made us pay. Let’s shake this off and look forward to the next game! Go Mariners! 💙💚
