Giants Edge Out Orioles in Baltimore, 5-3

What a game, Giants fans! 🎉 The San Francisco Giants secured a hard-fought 5-3 victory against the Baltimore Orioles. Let's dive into the action!

First Inning Fireworks

Mike Yastrzemski started the game with a bang, launching a solo homer to right center (397 feet), putting us on the board early! ⚾💥 Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize further as LaMonte Wade Jr. struck out, Heliot Ramos flied out, and Michael Conforto's single was left stranded when Tyler Fitzgerald popped out. Nonetheless, we led 1-0.

Orioles Respond in the Third

After a quiet second inning for both sides, the Orioles managed to take the lead in the bottom of the third. A walk by Emmanuel Rivera and a single by Jackson Holliday set the stage. James McCann's double tied the game, and a groundout by Cedric Mullins brought another run home. By the end of the inning, it was 2-1 in favor of Baltimore.

Giants Reclaim the Lead

Our bats came alive in the top of the fourth! 🪓 Heliot Ramos, Michael Conforto, and Tyler Fitzgerald loaded the bases. Grant McCray's fielder's choice, coupled with a Baltimore error, tied the game. Then, Casey Schmitt hit a clutch single to left, scoring two more. Despite a double play and a groundout, we ended the inning up 4-2.

Adding Insurance in the Sixth

Michael Conforto added some cushion in the top of the sixth with a solo blast to right (397 feet) 🌟, extending our lead to 5-2. It was a key insurance run!

Orioles Try to Claw Back

The bottom of the sixth had us a bit on edge. A single by Colton Cowser and a double from Ryan O'Hearn cut our lead to 5-3. When Emmanuel Rivera reached with an infield single, the Orioles threatened even more. Luckily, our bullpen held firm as Austin Slater struck out to end the inning.

Giants' Bullpen Shuts the Door

Our bullpen shined in the latter innings to preserve the lead. Hjelle got through a tricky 7th, while Ty Rogers handled the 8th with ease. The 9th inning saw Walker come in, and he retired the side in order, capped by a strikeout of Adley Rutschman! 💪

A Solid Team Effort

This win was a complete team effort, highlighted by home runs from Mike Yastrzemski and Michael Conforto, key hits from Casey Schmitt, and solid work from our bullpen.

Great job, Giants! On to the next one! 🧡⚾
