Rockies Score Early and Hold On for the Win!

What a game, Rockies fans! Our boys managed to take an early lead and held on to it for a nail-biting 4-3 victory over the Giants. Every play counted in this thrilling encounter at Coors Field, and the win was much deserved.

1st Inning: Strong Start for the Rockies

We started strong right from the bottom of the first inning. Charlie Blackmon led off with a walk, soon followed by a single from Ezequiel Tovar. When Ryan McMahon walked, the bases were loaded, and Elias Díaz's groundout double play saw Blackmon score. But we weren't done! Brenton Doyle reached on an infield single that brought Tovar home, giving us a solid 2-0 lead.

3rd Inning: Giants Fire Back, But We're Still Ahead

In the top of the third, the Giants tried to fight back. Tyler Fitzgerald homered to make it 2-1, but we held on. Our defense stood strong and kept the Giants at bay.

5th Inning: Tovar Delivers Again! 💣

The bottom of the 5th inning saw Sam Hilliard get a single and then Ezequiel Tovar blasted a 455-foot homer to left field, scoring two! This gave us a nice cushion with a 4-2 lead. Way to go, Tovar!

6th Inning: Giants Close the Gap

The Giants did manage to pull one back in the 6th. After Matt Chapman got on base via a throwing error and Wilmer Flores doubled to center to bring him in, the score tightened to 4-3. Our defense really needed to step up, and they did!

7th and 8th Inning: Pitching Clinic from the Bullpen 🧤

Freeland handed it over to Mears in the 7th inning, who did a magnificent job. We saw three strikeouts in the top of the 7th, and clean pitching in the 8th, despite Conforto getting a chance to bat for Matos.

9th Inning: Clutch Performance to Seal the Victory 🔒

In the top of the 9th, Vodnik took over and showed some nerves of steel. He got Chapman to foul out to right and struck out Wade Jr.. Thairo Estrada grounded out to second, and just like that, we closed out the game for a thrilling 4-3 win!

Great job, Rockies! Here's to many more victories like this! 🥳
