Early Inning Struggles​

Josh Rojas started us off, but unfortunately grounded out to shortstop. Then, Randy Arozarena got hit by a pitch but was erased when Cal Raleigh grounded into a double play. The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead when Masataka Yoshida scored on a wild pitch after a double from Rafael Devers.

Finding Our Rhythm​

The second and third innings were rough, with Justin Turner singling but failing to score in the second, and our offense stalling in the third. Things started to pick up in the fourth when Cal Raleigh doubled to center and was driven home by a single from Dylan Moore, tying the game at 1-1.

Taking the Lead​

In the fifth inning, Josh Rojas crushed a homer to center, giving us a 2-1 lead! Our bullpen was doing a stellar job keeping the game under control, but in the sixth inning, the Red Sox tied it up again when Dominic Smith scored on a single from Danny Jansen.

Extra Innings Drama​

The game remained tied at 2-2 heading into extra innings. Randy Arozarena got on base again in the ninth, but we couldn't cash in. In the top of the tenth, we had a big chance when Cal Raleigh reached third on a wild pitch, but Justin Turner and Leo Rivas couldn't bring him home.

Sadly, in the bottom of the tenth, Rafael Devers ended it with a double that scored Tyler O'Neill. The final score: Red Sox 3, Mariners 2.

Closing Thoughts​
