Rockies Start Strong, But Mariners Pull Away
As a devoted Colorado Rockies fan, I have to admit, the team gave us a roller-coaster of emotions in this game against the Seattle Mariners. It all started with a bit of back and forth as the Mariners took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning. But our boys showed resilienceSolid Effort from Our Rockies
Moving into the 4th inning, we saw one of our best moments. After a perfectly executed double by Jake McCarthy that brought Kyle Karros to the plate again, Willi Castro stepped up, driving in two runs with a single and putting us ahead, 5-3. The atmosphere was electric! The Mariners, however, weren't going down without a fight. They quickly closed the gap in the 5th inning. Yet, Braxton Fulford provided a spark of hope with a fantastic 427-foot homer in the 7th inning, bringing us within two at 8-6. It seemed the momentum was on our side as we rallied behind every pitch and swing.
A Tough Finish
Unfortunately, the Mariners' C. Davis homered in the 9th, putting them up 10-6. Despite our efforts to rally again, we just couldn't overcome that final gap. Still, it was inspiring to witness Tyler Freeman stealing second base in the final inning, showing our never-give-up spirit until the very endThe final verdict might have been 10-6 to the Mariners, but there were glimpses of brilliance from our Rockies that promise excitement for the future. We'll dust off this one and come back stronger next time. Go Rockies!
