A Bumpy Start
Well, Royals fans, it wasn't the start we were hoping for as the Mariners jumped on us early with a couple of runs in the first inning. Julio Rodriguez delivered a powerful double that sent two Mariners home. Our boys Mike Yastrzemski and Bobby Witt Jr. tried to respond, with Witt Jr. managing an infield single, but we just couldn't capitalize.
A Home Run Extravaganza
It was definitely a day for home runs, but unfortunately, many came from the Mariners. Dominic Canzone and Cal Raleigh really found their groove, hitting multiple homers that extended their lead. Meanwhile, shoutout to our young talent Carter Jensen who hit two fantastic homers, showing promise and keeping our spirits somewhat afloat.
Rally Nearly Struck
In the latter half of the game, Jonathan India and Carter Jensen played resiliently. Jensen brought in two with his second homer and Kyle Isbel was quick to keep the momentum, scoring another. A sacrifice fly by Yastrzemski added a cherry on top. By the end of the 8th inning, the Royals had managed to claw back to a score of 5. However, the fateful bottom of the ninth saw the Royals unable to further summit the Mariners' lead as the inning finished with no additional runs. A tough loss with a final score of 12-5, the Mariners taking this one home. But we’ll keep our heads high and our cheers louder for the next game!
