Mariners Come Up Just Short in Tough Battle Against Angels

Another hard-fought game, Mariners fans. Although we put up a strong fight, unfortunately, we fell to the Angels 5-4. Let's break down the action from today’s game.

Strong Start for the Mariners

We kicked things off with a quiet first inning, but in the top of the second, Justin Turner lit up the scoreboard with a solo home run to left (379 feet). ⚾🦾 That gave us an initial lead, taking the score to 1-0.

Angels Tie It Up and Mariners Take the Lead Again

In the bottom of the third, Jo Adell from the Angels tied the game up with a homer to center (405 feet). But our Mariners didn't let that shake them. Justin Turner was on fire today, hitting another homer to kick off the fourth inning (385 feet) and put us back in the lead, 2-1. Our momentum continued as Julio Rodríguez delivered a clutch single, scoring both Dylan Moore and Victor Robles to extend our lead to 4-1.

A Homer-Filled Game Keeps Us on Edge

The Angels began chipping away at our lead, with Adell hitting yet another homer in the 6th, making it 4-2. Then, in the crazy 7th inning, Mickey Moniak from the Angels rocked our world by homering to right center, which, unfortunately, tied the game back up at 4-4. 😞💔

Nail-Biting Finish and Heartbreaking Walk-Off

The game was balanced on a knife-edge by the 9th inning. Our Mariners had some opportunities but couldn’t capitalize. The bottom of the 9th was nail-bitingly tense. With two outs already, Moniak did it again with a dramatic walk-off homer to right (408 feet), sealing the Angels' victory at 5-4.

Conclusion

Today’s game was filled with electric moments and promising plays by our Justin Turner and Julio Rodríguez. Although we came up short, there’s so much to look forward to. Keep your heads up, Mariners fans, and let’s get ready for the next one! 🌊💙⚾
