Tough Start for the Angels

Hey Angels fans, it was a rough one tonight as we faced the Mariners. The game started off with a bang but not in our favor. In the top of the 1st inning, J.P. Crawford hit a ground rule double, and unfortunately, it only went downhill from there. Josh Rojas singled, allowing Crawford to score. Following that, there were consecutive hits and errors that led to a quick 4-0 deficit 😞.

Solidifying Our Struggles

Despite some attempts to get back into the game, like Nolan Schanuel walking and Kevin Pillar singling, we couldn't capitalize on runners in scoring positions. The Mariners continued to pile on the runs steadily with contributions across their lineup. Cal Raleigh's homer in the top of the 3rd extended their lead, making it even more difficult for us to catch up.

Middle Innings: No Respite

The middle innings were no different. In the top of the 4th inning, J.P. Crawford hit another homer, extending the Mariners’ lead to 7-0. Our hitters couldn't touch the Mariners' pitching with players like Taylor Ward and Logan O'Hoppe striking out in crucial moments. By the end of the 6th inning, Cal Raleigh hit another homer, making the score a daunting 11-0.

A Frustrating Finish

As we entered the later innings, the hope for a comeback dwindled. We saw glimpses of hope with players like Mickey Moniak hustling for infield singles and Zach Neto getting hit by a pitch, but we couldn’t string hits together. Even when pinch hitter Willie Calhoun got on base in the 9th, we were unable to bring him home.

Final Thoughts

The game concluded with an 11-0 loss 😔. It was a tough game for our Angels, but we need to keep our heads high. Baseball is a game of many, and there are always opportunities to bounce back. Let's hope for a better outcome in our next outing. Go Halos! 🔴⚾
