Tough Loss in St. Louis

Our Seattle Mariners battled hard but came up short against the St. Louis Cardinals, falling 0-2. Despite some promising moments, we just couldn't get the key hits when we needed them. ⚾

Early Opportunities Missed

The first inning gave us hope as Julio Rodríguez singled and moved to third, with Cal Raleigh and Luke Raley also getting on base. Unfortunately, Randy Arozarena, Justin Turner, and Jorge Polanco all struck out, leaving the bases loaded. A frustrating start for sure!

Pitchers Duel Through Six Innings

Both teams' pitchers were on fire. Our boys couldn't break through, as we saw Mitch Haniger fly out, Josh Rojas and J.P. Crawford getting retired, inning after inning. The Cardinals were also shut down by our stellar pitching and solid defense. It was a tense, scoreless game through the sixth.

Seventh Inning Drama

In the top of the seventh, we had a great chance with Polanco walking and Haniger getting on base too. Dylan Moore walked to load the bases. But once again, we were left empty-handed as Julio Rodríguez grounded out. The pressure was mounting!

Breaking Point in the Eighth

The bottom of the eighth was where it all went wrong. Jordan Walker got hit by a pitch, and then Pedro Pagés blasted a homer to left center, bringing in two runs. It was a crushing blow. 😞 We couldn't recover from that.

Ninth Inning Struggles

We had one last shot in the ninth. Dylan Moore singled to keep our hopes alive, but Julio Rodríguez struck out to end the game. It was a tough pill to swallow.

Final Thoughts

Despite the loss, there were some positives, especially our pitching and defense keeping the game tight. We'll need to regroup and find ways to capitalize on those scoring opportunities going forward. Go Mariners! 🌊🔵
