Mariners Start Strong Out the Gate
What an electrifying start to the game! Our Mariners crushed it in the top of the 1st inning, setting the tone early. Julio Rodriguez doubled to left, followed by Cal Raleigh's single bringing him home. This was just the beginning as we saw Randy Arozarena and Luke Raley deliver crucial hits to rack up the runs. By the end of the inning, we put up a solid 5-0 lead!
Continued Dominance in the 2nd
Onto the 2nd inning, and the Mariners were not done. After Julio Rodriguez singled, Randy Arozarena crushed a homer to left, making it 7-0. Our bats were blazing, and the Cardinals had no answers early on. J.P. Crawford and Mitch Garver kept the pressure but couldn't add more. Still, a 7-0 lead felt good!
Cardinals Try to Respond
The Cardinals managed to put a couple on the board in the bottom of the 2nd. Nolan Arenado and Ivan Herrera set up a scoring opportunity which Jose Fermin capitalized on, bringing it to 7-2. However, our defense held strong to limit the damage.Middle Innings: Steady and Strong
By the 5th inning, our lead expanded to 9-2 thanks to a 2-run homer by Jorge Polanco. The Cardinals struggled to get any momentum against our pitching and solid defense.
Nail in the Coffin
In the 9th, J.P. Crawford continued to show his value, bringing Luke Raley home with a clutch double. That gave us a commanding 10-4 lead, making it clear the Cardinals were outmatched today.
Closing it Out
Talk about a way to finish the game! Siani and pinch-hitter Victor Scott II struck out swinging followed by Alec Burleson flying out to right. A flawless 9th inning clinched the win for the Mariners at 10-4.Overall, a fantastic all-around performance from our Mariners. An early lead, strong pitching, and tight defense paved the way to this convincing victory.
