Heartbreak in Texas: Mariners Lose Thriller to Rangers 6-5
Hey Mariners fans, what a rollercoaster game we had today!
It was a tough one against the Rangers, and unfortunately, we couldn't hold on to our lead. Let's dive into the game summary.Early Lead for Mariners
Things started off well for us. In the top of the 2nd inning, Justin Turner singled, followed by a groundout from Jorge Polanco that moved him to second. Dylan Moore came up big with a single to left, and Turner scored to put us on the board first!
Victor Robles then grounded into a fielder's choice to end the inning, but we were up 1-0.Raleigh's Homer Extends the Lead
In the top of the 3rd inning, Cal Raleigh got hit by a pitch, but that didn't faze him at all! He came back up and launched a massive 402-foot homer to left field in the 3rd inning, extending our lead to 2-0. Our bullpen seemed to be doing its job, keeping the Rangers at bay through four innings.5-Run 6th Inning for Rangers
The 6th inning was an absolute disaster. Josh Smith started things for the Rangers by scoring Leody Taveras, and then Wyatt Langford hit a 396-foot homer, bringing in three runs.
Suddenly, our 5-0 lead was down to just one run at 5-4. Then, Leody Taveras hit another homer in the 7th to tie it up 5-5. It was clear momentum had shifted.Late-Inning Drama
The 9th inning was a nail-biter. The game was tied 5-5, and Diaz Muñoz tried to hold the Rangers. Unfortunately, Taveras singled and stole second. With two outs, Marcus Semien singled to left, allowing the speedy Taveras to score the winning run.
Final Thoughts
It's tough to see a game slip away, especially with such a solid start. Cal Raleigh's homer and Victor Robles's clutch hit in the 6th inning kept us in the game. However, our bullpen couldn't hold the line. We'll look to bounce back in the next game and get back on track.Keep your heads up, Mariners fans! Onto the next one!
