Cubs Tear Down Cardinals, 6-3 
Well folks, it was a tough one at Wrigley Field tonight as our St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Chicago Cubs, 6-3. The game started off with some promise but quickly turned south. Here's a rundown of how it all unfolded.Rough Start in the 2nd Inning
After a quiet first inning, things took a turn for the worse during the bottom of the 2nd. The Cubs’ scoring frenzy began with multiple hits, capped off by a three-run homer from Christian Bethancourt. Let's not forget Michael Busch adding a solo shot, leaving us trailing 5-0 by the end of the inning.
Cardinals Fight Back in the 3rd
Hope seemed to shine briefly in the top of the 3rd when Willson Contreras and Paul Goldschmidt drew walks, setting up Michael Siani to score on Goldy's walk. Unfortunately, Nolan Arenado flied out to end the inning, leaving us with just one run on the board.
Missed Opportunities
The mid-innings saw missed opportunities as our bats couldn't get going. Despite some hits here and there, key players like Tommy Pham and Lars Nootbaar just couldn’t deliver in crucial moments.Late Game Push
In the 8th inning, our guys showed some life. Alec Burleson walked and advanced on a wild pitch, leading to a scoring push with Pham and Brendan Donovan also walking in runs. We managed to cut their lead to 5-3. However, a pinch-hit strikeout by Brandon Crawford ended the promising rally.
Cubs Seal the Game in the 8th
Just when it seemed we might mount a comeback, the Cubs answered back with another run in the bottom of the 8th. Seiya Suzuki doubled and later scored, pushing the score to 6-3, which turned out to be the final nail in the coffin.Final Thoughts
It's disappointing to see our boys fall short after showing flashes of potential. We had a few good moments, but the early deficits and missed opportunities sunk us today.
