Cubs Get the W: Dominant Victory Over Cardinals! 🎉

What a game, Cubs fans! The Chicago Cubs take home a commanding 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals today! Let’s dive into the highlights and key moments that led to this sweet victory.

Solid Start from Our Pitching Staff 💪

The game kicked off with our pitching staff sending a strong message. The first inning saw the Cardinals’ hitters shut down, with Masyn Winn, Willson Contreras, and Paul Goldschmidt unable to make any impact. Big shoutout to our pitchers for setting the tone early on!

Cubs’ Patience Pays Off in the 4th and 5th Innings 🐻

After the Cardinals got on the board in the 3rd inning with a homer from Masyn Winn scoring Lars Nootbaar, the Cubs roared back. In the bottom of the 4th, Isaac Paredes singled to left followed by a double from Mike Tauchman. Dansby Swanson then grounded out, but it was enough to bring home Paredes, and Tauchman scored on a balk to tie the game at 2-2.

The 5th inning was where we took control! Miguel Amaya singled to center, and Nico Hoerner followed with another single, moving Amaya to third. Michael Busch’s single brought Amaya home, making it 3-2. A sac fly from Cody Bellinger then allowed Hoerner to score. What a fantastic show of patience and execution!

Long Balls Seal the Deal 🔥

The 6th inning turned into a fireworks display thanks to home runs from Mike Tauchman and Miguel Amaya! Tauchman’s shot to left center started the inning off right, and Amaya’s blast to center added the exclamation point. These homers extended the Cubs' lead to 6-2, and our bullpen ensured the Cardinals stayed grounded the rest of the way.

Closing It Out in Style 👍

Our relievers, Mark Hodge, Michael Miller, and Julian Merryweather, kept the Cardinals at bay, delivering clutch outs when needed. The final outs in the 9th inning came smoothly as Tommy Pham, Alec Burleson, and Brendan Donovan were retired without much drama.

Let’s give it up for the whole squad. This was a true team effort that brought the W home. Onward and upward, Cubs Nation! 🐻💙❤️

GO CUBS! ✊
