Rockies Triumph in a Thrilling Comeback! 🎉

Rockies fans, what a game! Our boys in purple pulled off a spectacular comeback to beat the Cardinals 10-8 at Coors Field! Let's dive into the action-packed play-by-play.

First Inning Woes and Redemption

The Cardinals struck early with back-to-back home runs from Nootbaar and Goldschmidt, putting us in a 0-2 hole. But our Rockies didn't back down. In the bottom of the first, an error by Saggese allowed Blackmon to get on base, setting the stage for an RBI single by Toglia and an RBI double by Jones to tie the game 2-2.

Second Inning Setback

The second inning was rough as a couple of errors led to three more runs for the Cardinals. Despite the rocky defensive plays, Blackmon hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the frame, bringing us back to a 4-5 game.

Mid-Game Tensions

In the middle innings, things seemed to stall out for both teams' offenses until Herrera's solo homer put the Cardinals ahead 6-5 in the 5th. Our boys continued to battle, with Cave hitting a crucial double and eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly from Blackmon, tying the game at five all. This kept the pressure on the Cardinals.

Late Inning Drama

The Cardinals took an 8-5 lead after a two-run homer by Pagés in the 8th inning. But then, like true Rockies, we made an epic comeback in the bottom of the 8th. With crucial hits from Cave, Schunk, and a two-RBI double by Tovar, we tied the game. Next, McMahon and Toglia doubled back-to-back, bringing in the final runs to make it 10-8.

Locking Down the Win

Closer Halvorsen took care of business in the top of the 9th, striking out Goldschmidt and inducing a flyout to lock down our victory.

Rockies Fans, Rejoice! 🎉

What an exhilarating game, showcasing our resilience and determination. Our Rockies really showed their fighting spirit and gave us a thrilling win! Let's keep this momentum rolling. Go Rockies! 🚀⚾💜
