Tough Loss in Baltimore
We gave it a solid fight tonight in Baltimore, but despite the hard work, the Orioles took the win 6-5 thanks to a walk-off home run in the 9th inning.
Early Innings: Rays Shine Bright
The game started strong with Jake Mangum singling to left in the first inning. The second inning saw Richie Palacios taking a walk, showing great patience at the plate. Our breakthrough came in the third inning when Christopher Morel doubled to left field, scoring Bob Seymour and Yandy DÃaz, and Junior Caminero ran home soon after from a sacrifice fly by Palacios, giving us a promising 3-0 lead!
Maintaining the Edge
Each run seemed more exhilarating than the last, especially when we stretched our lead to 5-2. Thanks to hits by Tristan Gray and Bob Seymour, we maintained an advantage over the Orioles through the sixth inning. The defense was solid too, with Colton Cowser and man-to-man Viking Mayo foiled by our pitchers, reinforcing our control.Last Innings: A Narrow Escape
Though the Orioles narrowed the gap in the later innings, a burst of dilligence from our boys kept us in contention right until the end. But with the bases loaded, the tension in the air was palpable. The Orioles took full advantage of a last-minute rally in the eighth to even the score at 5-5. And ultimately, Dylan Beavers got the better of us in the ninth inning with a walk-off homer to right field. A tough pill to swallow after such a tireless effort from the Rays.
Let's chalk this up to experience, recoup, and look ahead—you know we'll be back next time, ready to grab the win!
