Another Tough Loss on the Road

Fellow Nationals fans, we faced another challenging game against the St. Louis Cardinals. While it was a valiant effort by our boys, we fell short with a final score of 3-6. The game started off with some promise as CJ Abrams walked in the first inning. However, a strategic catcher-to-shortstop play caught him stealing, and we couldn’t take advantage of the early opportunity.

A Moment of Hope

Although the Cardinals struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning with a 3-run homer by Nelson Velázquez, we saw sparks of hope in the top of the 2nd inning. Luis García Jr. and Brady House set the stage, allowing Joey Wiemer to unleash a monster home run that evened things up to 3-3! 🙌 That homer was an electrifying moment and made us all believe a turning point was on the way.

Costly Errors and Final Push

However, the Cardinals regained the lead, and despite our best efforts, we couldn't close the gap. Costly errors in the bottom of the 8th led to another run from the Cardinals, and our guys couldn't make a late-game comeback. Highlights included a solid performance from Keibert Ruiz with his essential single in the 6th inning, showing there’s skill and determination within this team.

It wasn’t the finish we hoped for, but it’s another opportunity to learn and grow. Here’s hoping our next game will turn the tide! Until then, let’s keep rooting for our team! 💪⚾
