Another great win for the Diamondbacks! The team put together a masterclass in pitching and timely hitting to shut out the Cubs 3-0 at Wrigley Field. From start to finish, the D-backs were in control, showing why they are a force to be reckoned with. Let's break it down!
Pitching Dominance and Solid Defense 
The pitchers were lights out today. The game began with outstanding work from our starting pitcher. Though the Cubs managed to get some runners on base, our defense always found a way to shut them down. Our bullpen was equally effective, with Paul Sewald closing out the game in style. The Cubs' batters were left swinging at air, and we didn't let them score a single run.
Explosive 5th Inning! 
The game remained scoreless through the first four innings until the top of the 5th, which turned out to be game-changing. Alek Thomas kicked things off with a powerful homer to left-center (363 feet). Immediately after, Geraldo Perdomo walked, setting the stage for Corbin Carroll. Carroll smashed it out of the park (418 feet), bringing home Perdomo and making it a 3-0 lead. These back-to-back homers pumped up the team and the fans alike!
