Tough Loss in Extra Innings

Both teams' pitchers were dealing in the early innings, keeping hitters in check. Despite some strong at-bats, we couldn’t get anything going against their pitching. Ketel Marte, Randal Grichuk, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. all struck out in our first inning, setting the tone for a tight game.Struggles at the Plate
We had a tough day at the plate, managing only a single hit through the first five innings. Christian Walker got on base in the 2nd due to a hit-by-pitch, but Eugenio Suárez, Jake McCarthy, and Kevin Newman couldn't capitalize.Suárez Gives Us the Lead!
Finally, in the 7th inning, Eugenio Suárez came through in a big way with a towering home run to left field, giving us a 1-0 lead. The dugout erupted, and we could feel the momentum turning our way.Cubs Fight Back Late
Our pitchers continued to shut down the Cubs until the 9th inning, when they managed to tie the game. Nico Hoerner doubled and later scored on a single by Seiya Suzuki. The game was deadlocked at 1-1, sending us into extra innings.Extra Innings Heartbreaker
In the top of the 10th, we had a chance but couldn't bring any runs home. The Cubs loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, and unfortunately, Nico Hoerner walked to bring in the winning run. It was a tough pill to swallow, but we have to hold our heads high and look forward to the next game.Up Next
